MANCHESTER, N.H. — A Springfield man died in a motorcycle accident Saturday, according to New
Hampshire State Police.
Police said Nicholas A. Beam, 18, was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 2 p.m.
Beam was on a 1998 Kawasaki Ninja, according to police, when he turned off Interstate 93 South onto
the ramp for Exit 7. Police said they believed he was trying to merge onto the eastbound portion of
Route 101 when he failed to navigate the turn. He hit a guardrail and suffered critical injuries,
according to police.
Police described the ramp as having two lanes and sweeping to the left, leading to Route 101.
The accident is still under investigation, police said.
Beam graduated from Springfield High School earlier this year and was working in the Springfield
area as a carpenter and roofer. He was a certified E.M.T. and had recently completed fire safety
training.
Nick Beam was an amazing guy, very sweet..very very friendly

Nick it has been hard not having you around. My boy with his feet so off the ground. 2 years it has been and it seams like a hundred more till I see u again. I am missing you more & more every day it should get easier so they say. Closer it what everyone needs (so they say) No matter how I plead god chose u for his need. Its not right and its not fair I raised u from a baby combed your hair, held your hand and kissed your booboos, pushed you through school and helped to mold you into one of the most wounderful people this town has ever seen.I am so impressed with u. Imagine if I was given one moment,
just a single slice of my past.
I could hold it close forever,
and that moment would always last.
Id put the moment in a safe,
within my hearts abode.
I could open it when I wanted,
and only I would know the code.
I could choose a time of laughing,
a time of happiness and fun.
I could choose a time that tried me,
through everything I've done.
I sat and thought about what moment,
would always make me smile.
One that would always push me,
to walk that extra mile.
If I'm feeling sad and low,
if I'm struggling with what to do.
I can go and open my little safe,
and watch my moment through.
There are moments I can think of,
that would lift my spirits everytime.
The moments when you picked me up,
when the road was hard to climb.
For me to only pick one moment,
to cherish, save and keep,
Is proving really difficult,
as I've gathered up a heap!
I've dug deep inside my heart,
found the safe and looked inside,
there was room for lots of moments,
in fact hundreds if I tried.
Am building my own little library,
embedded in my heart,
for all the moments spent with you,
before you had to part.
I can open it up whenever I like,
pick a moment and watch it through,
My little library acts as a promise,
